Game is already going at too fast a pace for UCLA to feel comfortable.
Also I really don’t like Close having Betts sag off her man, it’s led to some real open looks from three for UConn off the dribble handoff, and the Huskies are too good from range to give those up for free.
It’s a similar problem to what we saw against Richmond, except in that case since all five players on the court were threats to shoot Betts played up on her assignment. In this one, El Alfy isn’t an outside threat, so Betts is playing off her, but it means UConn is getting free handoffs into open looks. Has to be a change to coverages to compensate.
This is the worst I’ve seen them play all year.
