I'm glad your cover photos have not inspired JJ to shave his armpits. The game was quite exciting. I always expected ASU to get hot from long range.

Great news on the Chip Kelly extension

Steve's avatar

Don’t know why you’re mad. Who are we going to get that’s better. Shows that we are serious about competing in the Big 10

paulieg896's avatar

Agreed with the ugh. But also Steve is right that there isn't anyone else better on the market. Hope the new DC gets the D turned around.

We are disappointed but not deterred. 2027 is not 2037. Whatyoumightcallit will still be gone by then. Meanwhile, Dan Guerrero's mentality of sustaining mediocrity apparently survives well in Westwood.

Aren’t you the guy who assured us that you had told the AD that you and your friends were not going to donate anymore until Kelly was gone, and that that would be enough to persuade him?

Atta way to highjack the thread, Steve. If you wait, I'm sure there will be an article devoted to this that you can comment on. Until then, let's just focus on our basketball team in this thread, shall we?

So much good bruin news tho why not talk about it all

Henry Tse's avatar

Sure. I am still sticking with my comment last November - that UCLA will go a long way, if not all the way to Final Four. But then knowing you, LOL , I won't be surprised if UCLA exits early ( god forbids, hell no ) that you will write again, " aren't you the guy blah blah blah.. Being Friday night, I like to tease you a little.

Really going out there on a limb predicting ucla to go to final 4

Bruinbaskets's avatar

I’ve been saying how Saturday game will say a lot about this ucla team. They don’t have a lot of strong high caliber wins this season and I feel they need to beat Arizona to lock up a possible one seed… but more importantly to shut up all the expert talking heads.

I hope that ucla dominates the game from start to finish. I commented on the lack of offense early against asu just in time for them to pour on the offense and keep up the defense to end the game… go ucla beat Arizona!

Totally agree, this is the game that the Bruins need to show that they have what it takes to make a deep run in the NCAA tournament. Very fitting that it's the regular season finale and sets the stage for postseason play. Their strength of schedule so far has been fairly weak, and their Quad-1 record isn't overwhelming. I would expect the Mildcats to try to shut down Jaquez, so the rest of the team needs to step up, and the defense needs to stay elite to disrupt AZ's high-powered offense. Playing in front of the home crowd in Pauley will help. Hoping for a convincing victory to remain unbeaten at home this season. Go Bruins!

I expect them to go at Bona hard in an attempt to have Cronin sit him for most of the game with foul trouble, leaving the inside open for them when he's not available.

BruinMom17's avatar

I completely agree. If the officiating is anything like the past 3 games, they will go after Bona early and often.

Off topic. PAC 12 LA is the only region not showing UCLA - Stanford game. What's the deal? Seems to be a really petty move. Correction: Arizona region not showing game either.

Steve's avatar

Don’t we play zona

Gen2Bruin1987's avatar

I am referring to the women's tournament game and we played Arizona yesterday.

Bruin4ever's avatar

Congratulations to the Lady Bruins in upsetting Stanford and reaching the Pac-12 tournament final! Go Bruins!

Watched the come from behind win. What a game. So great to see the WBB team knock off Stanford. Go Bruins!

I anticipated your message. Indeed I was the one who shared on the MB website that something might happen regarding Kelly. It turned out to be the opposite of what we expected. Our group of alums never said our collective donations, nothing compared with what Elon Musk can do but are proportionate to our financial status, will discontinue. But we put what we can afford to where our mouth is, rather than talk about it. At least 2027 is not 2037. It will still come soon for Kelly to leave by then. Chip Kelly is a retread coach whose better days are way behind him already. You and I just have to agree to disagree about it.

The above message is my response to Steve's comments,

Just a hater you are. Did you just take credit for predicting the extension by predicting his firing months ago?
