Damn! Touchdown, Ducks.

Joe Piechowski's avatar

At least the two-point conversion failed. Go Dukes!

Bob will need some more speed in Westwood.

JMU's center can stay in JMU. I dont think he's had a good snap their entire drive.

JMU against Oregon already looks better than Tulane did all game against Ole Miss earlier

ArmyBruin's avatar

Very impressive and creative drive by JMU.

Wow double pass on 3rd and 9! Bob Chesney is gutsy

ArmyBruin's avatar

The teceiver really sold the run on the double pass. Well executed.

I like RB Wayne Knight a lot and he has a year of eligibility left.

At his size, unless someone sees him as the next Darren Sproles, he's pretty unlikely to declare early as well. I do hope he comes

Wow Dante Moore bailed out by a weak PI call

Oregon speed on offense is too much for JMU. A WIDE disparity.

Well, it's looking like Chesney will be in Westwood sooner rather than later.

I didn't realize that the 21 point spread was per quarter. Oy vey.

I'm pretty sure that "playing hard for all 60 minutes" doesn't make it to SVP but there are those in Vegas who may not have appreciated the 99-yard drive and 4th down QB sneak with 65 seconds to go as much as we all did!

Tulane and JMU now should play for the G5 Championship.

Scenarios:

Conduct a CFP and a NDP.

Expand the field to include all.

paulieg896's avatar

Sad, had hoped either Tulane or James Madison could put up a fight against the big boys. Oh well

SEAUCLAn's avatar

Should CFP expand or contract?

paulieg896's avatar

There should only be 6 to 8 teams. 12 is already too many and 16 definitely too many

how about neither? just don't let schools like Tulane and JMU in.

These refs are terrible

Watching JMU rn, you understand why retaining Nico has turned into a priority. Barnett isn't a very good passing QB and he's just not going to win games at the Big Ten level.

The JMU talent level is awful.

Dimitri Dorlis's avatar

I wouldn't say that, but the Oregon talent level is something only like 4 other teams in the country can match.

Like, I think they embarrass Texas Tech next week, for example, and they'd beat pretty much every other team that has played in these opening rounds handily.

fruithi's avatar

Not talking about Oregon. Talking about JMU. It is a miserable match up. JMU penalties and miss guided offense. Defense can’t cover or tackle. Looks like UCLA team this year.

Dimitri Dorlis's avatar

I'm saying most teams would be having similar issues against Oregon on the road. Southern Cal hit a few deep plays but was outplayed for the vast majority of that game. They're a bad matchup for everyone, not just JMU.

suc lost by 15 points to the dux: 42-27.

JMU lost by 17 points to the dux:

51-34.

suc had 382 yards on offense. JMU had 509 yards on offense.

JMU definitely struggled on D but so did suc.

Would you say that suc's talent is awful?

ArmyBruin's avatar

Love the hire. JMU also doesn’t belong in the playoffs. Nobody believes JMU is better than Notre Dame.
