I lost my dog this week. It has been a tough few days. I decided to attend the game to keep my mind off of it for a bit. So on Friday, I made my way out to school and what a great atmosphere! I had never attended a UCLA womenโs basketball game, but I was surprised by the level of engagement the students, alumni, and fans had with the team and the team reciprocated back with their play. These ladies are legit contenders and hopefully in a couple of weeks time we can celebrate them with a National Championship. ๐๐๐ป
Oh my, I am so sorry and heartbroken for your loss. Several in our beautiful Bruin family have lost loved ones this year and my heart and prayers are with you ๐๐๐๐
I lost my mom this year, and she and I went to all the UCLA games together - she was my best friend and confidante, and she loved UCLA. I am happy you found a bit of respite in going to the game on Friday.
These Lady Bruins are indeed so very special, and the team and the coaches would make Coach Wooden so proud - they have all the tangibles and intangibles that Wooden's teams possessed.
God bless you, and your wonderful dog. Hope you join the game thread this evening as it's a very supportive place to be.๐๐๐
Thank you so much! I am sorry for your loss as well. I know I am in pain, but I canโt fathom the kind of pain you are still feeling from losing your mom, friend, confidant. My heart goes out to you.
At least our girls won, and from the time the game starts we until itโs over it feel like everything is okay.
You have such a kind heart Hugo. Thank you. I know exactly what you mean...
From tip-off until the final buzzer sounds, everything does seem ok, like you can lose yourself, and the pain subsides if only for those two hours.
This community has been so gemerous with their prayers and kindness and love for every person whose loved one is no longer here. Stay close with the Bruin family, they will help you through.
Just like on Friday, Joe and I are here in Pauley covering the game. Was pleasantly surprised to see people milling around outside as I was walking up, should be a good crowd.
