How to Watch UCLA at San Diego State: Game Time, TV Schedule, Radio and More
The Bruins visit Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego to take on the Aztecs.
On paper at least, tomorrow’s game between UCLA and San Diego State should be a good one. The Aztecs have won their first two games by running the ball while the Bruin defense looked really good against the run last week.
Meanwhile, the Aztec defense has been solid so far, or has it? SDSU opened the season against Ohio from the MAC and FCS school Idaho State. As a result of rather weak opposition, I’d argue that the Aztecs’ stats are inflated.
Yeah, they ran the ball well in both games, but how good were the opposing defenses? And how good were the opposing offenses which have made the Aztec defense look good? In other words, Brady Hoke and company have been putting up unrealistic video game stats in their first two games.
Now, they have to play a Bruin team which is just on the outside looking in at the Top 25 polls. If the Bruins can head down the 5 and expose the Aztecs, UCLA may find a way to get into the Top 25 come Monday.
Let’s look at the keys to the game.
Keys to the Game
Let’s move on to the keys to the game.
1. Stop the Aztec Rushing Attack
San Diego State likes to run the ball. They are 55-2 over their last 57 games when they have run for more than 200 yards. If UCLA stops the run, the Bruins should win the game.
2. Light It Up!
San Diego State is 35-3 under Brady Hoke when the Aztecs give up less than 24 points. If the Bruins want to win, they will need to light up the scoreboard for at least 24 points.
3. Win the Turnover Battle
Last week, UCLA had a turnover ratio of zero. While Bruin quarterbacks threw three interceptions, the defense responded with two picks of their own plus a fumble recovery.
San Diego State has won 22 of their last 24 games when they’ve forced at least two turnovers and they have won 32 straight games when they’ve forced three or more.
The Bruin defense will need to at least match the Aztecs when it comes to forcing turnovers. Ideally, UCLA should look to take the ball away more than the offense gives it up. If the Bruins win the turnover battle, they should win the game.
Depth Chart
The Bruin offensive depth chart this week is identical to last week’s. On one hand, that means that teams still have to prep for facing three different quarterbacks as well as multiple running backs and receivers/
Here is UCLA’s depth chart for tomorrow:
Let’s take a look at how to watch tomorrow’s game. But, before looking at that, it’s worth noting that in order to watch this game, you will need to either watch it live or record it. For the first time I can recall, there will be no rebroadcast of this game. It won’t be on Pac-12 Football in 60 nor will it re-air in any form on CBS Sports Network, which, frankly, is surprising. So, set your DVRs just in case.
