How to Watch UCLA at Arizona State: Game Time, TV Schedule, Radio and More
The Bruins travel to Tempe to take on the Sun Devils.
Tonight, UCLA travels to the Desert for a game against the Arizona State Sun Devils. Let’s dive right in and look at this week’s Keys to the Game.
Keys to the Game
In honor of Arizona offensive coordinator Noel Mazzone who has famously bragged that he calls the same five plays over and over in a different order, I’m sticking with the same three keys in a different order, of course, that I’ve discussed this season mostly because they are the three most important elements to a Bruin victory.
1. Demetric Felton.
Over the past few weeks, we’ve seen that UCLA can change quarterbacks without missing a beat. That, in large part, has been due to the play of Demetric Felton who has picked up the team and carried the offense.
As long as that continues, the Bruin offense should continue to play well. But, if the Sun Devil defense should find a way to stop Felton, the Bruins could be in trouble.
Against Colorado and Oregon, UCLA turned the ball over four times on the road and lost. Against UC Berkeley, they turned it over less and the Golden Bears turned it over more and the Bruins won. Last week against Arizona, UCLA avoided turning the ball over and then the defense made two later interceptions which helped seal the game. If UCLA takes it away as much if not more than the Sun Devils, the Bruins should win. But, the Bruins absolutely, positively need to stop turning the ball over on the road.
The Bruin defense has shown a lot of improvement this season. They managed to effectively employ a pass rush which was non-existent last season. Jayden Daniels has a tendency to be slippery. If he doesn’t beat you with his arm, he can do it with his legs. The trick will be to see if UCLA can stop the passing game while limiting the damage Daniels does on the ground.
