How To Watch, Game Preview and Game Thread: #15 UCLA Bruins vs. #5 Arizona Wildcats
The Bruins face their former conference rival in an early season matchup at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood.

Well, the good news is that, yesterday, Comcast announced the return of NBC Sports Network after it was killed four years ago. The new NBCSN will carry an inventory of sports programming which previously was only available via Peacock, Comcast’s streaming-only service. While NBCSN will feature many Big Ten men’s and women’s basketball games, the bad news is that the new cable channel does not launch until Monday. So, tonight’s game between #15 UCLA and #5 Arizona will be streaming only on Peacock.
It’s a shame because this game deserves to be seen by more people than will be able to see it tonight because it is streaming only. However, if you have Spectrum like I do, you should be able to log in to Peacock using your cable TV login and it shouldn’t require an additional subscription.
When these teams met last December in the Footprint Center in Phoenix, UCLA came out ahead, 57-54. Tonight, the teams will meet at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood as part of the Hall of Fame Series West Coast Showdown. Earlier today, Southern Cal defeated Illinois State and, now, the Bruins will face the Wildcats.
Let’s look at Tommy Lloyd’s starting five.
Arizona Wildcats Starting Five
The Wildcats are led by forward Koa Peat. Last week, the freshman earned both national freshman of the week and player of the week awards. Peat is averaging 19.3 ppg and 5.7 rebounds per game so far this season.
Senior guard Jaden Bradley’s numbers aren’t far behind Peat. Bradley is averaging 16.0 ppg and he leads Arizona with 14 assists so far. He also leads the starters in shooting percentage with 64.0%.
The final Wildcat starters averaging in double figures is freshman guard Brayden Burries. Burries is averaging 10.0 ppg so far, despite shooting just 37.9% from the field.
Junior Motiejus Kriva is a center from Lithuania, who is averaging 8.0 ppg. He is second on the team, and first amongst the starters, in rebounds with an average of 6.3 rpg. He also leads the team in blocks with seven.
Finally, Ivan Kharchenkov will be the other starting forward. The freshman from Russia is averaging just 4.7 ppg but he is second on the team in steals with six.
Beyond the starting five, look for senior guard Anthony Dell’Orso to see significant time. Dell’Orso is averaging 25.5 minutes per game which certainly has helped him average 11.3 ppg.
Senior forward Tobe Awaka and freshman swingman Dwayne Aristode will also see a lot of time. Awaka leads the Cats in rebounds with an average of 10.7 rpg off the bench and Aristode is shooting 63.6% from behind the arc, making him the team’s biggest three-point threat.
