Would like to say something, but what has Dimitri missed here? Guess I can second the last paragraph after last week!

11-1 with this schedule I expected. 10-2 good but not great. Anything else total fail...

Honestly, the Bruins' D on man coverage was also poor. As are most defenses. You CANNOT go man-to-man on those SC receivers. They are too good and too fast and CW can and will sling it in there. I do think the zone was the right scheme BUT they played it way too loosely.

On another note, the RB looked much fuller. That was a nice sight to behold. For too long it has been so empty.

I will be cheering for you all today! Cal can be a tough out if their offense is feeling the vibes. Their defense is either pretty good or horrific. A total mixed bag. They almost beat Notre Dame but lost to Colorado. Go figure.

"It starts with the linebackers: they’re bad. I don’t mean they’re bad football players, by the way; more that they’re not even close to the level of athleticism required to compete at this level of competition."

I remember back to the BN days when it was ABSOLUTELY FORBIDDEN to criticize the players or make any negative assessment of them like that. To be perfectly honest, scathing appraisals like the above are very refreshing -- especially during the days where the kids now have the right to market themselves like little capitalists and should be subject to honest criticism if they stink up the barn. I mean, it's a whole package: The Chipmeister (future athletic meal catering mogul, hopefully) recruited these kids!

Runfastadwin below nailed it. They should have wiped the floor with their schedule and at least put on a competitive "gutty little bruin" game with the Toe Jams. The UCLA Football Enterprise, Inc. is a major college sports franchise charging exorbitant prices for their products; athletics are a professional, money-making endeavor. Customers have a right to know what they're paying for when they push through the turnstiles. You do not phone it in at this level.

*sigh*

I guess the Big Blue Tarps remain at the Rose Bowl for another season. When Joe apprised us yesterday of the fact that Chef Chippy would have to win tonight's game and whatever toilet bowl the Bruins gain access to JUST TO BREAK EVEN OVER the entirety of Tele-Tubby's reign of error that kind of put this tragic Dorrell-esque epoch in perspective. (Hell, even the Dorrell era had some kind of luster.)

Is Mora available?

So, I guess it's one more season of this stuff before the Big Ten bloodbaths begin.

By the way, Dimitri, you're to be applauded for generating quite a decent product yourself. Your consistent weekly ratings of the UCLA athletic endeavors is a great objective benchmark! Sincere thanks!

Great summation of the game, coaching staff, and State of the Program. Thank you for your concise and honest analysis 👏 this year. I really hope Martin Jarmond reads this or someone directs his attention to it...

My impression; DTR’s main focus was the quarterback on the opposite sideline. His battle was already established when he ran on to the field. He wasn’t going to let a first year QB outplay him. I knew he make it personal. That’s the way he played.
