Sad but this UCLA football program is mirroring Karl Dorrell’s current program at Colorado. Nothing has changed at UCLA since Dorrell’s exit from UCLA. History repeats its self again and again.
Is someone finally saying something about the talent level and not just the coaching? The info is readily available about the need of 4 and 5-star players to compete nationally on a top-10 or even 25 level. The recruiting continues to be mediocre at best and the strategy is now a pipe-dream in Chip's mind.
I've mentioned talent level for awhile now, and the site in general has been beating the drum of the Blue Chip Ratio required to compete at the national level for years.
Kudos for replaying this mess, DD. We're grateful your mom raised a glutton for punishment (hi Dimitri's mom). It's pretty clear that this team/staff is not just wildly inconsistent. Well, they are, but it's also clear the ceiling is just not high enough, which speaks to the limits of both the coaching staff and overall recruiting. And I don't see that getting any better under the current leadership. Which means that Jarmond is gonna have to make some moves. Which means, here we go again...
Luke Fickell is going to bide his time until Ohio State or (likely) Notre Dame opens up, because he's from that area and wants to stay there.
UCLA is definitely going to hire Jeff Hafley and I'm more than ok with that because Hafley is good at his job and on a career upswing, which would be a change of pace for a UCLA hire.
I hate to be presumptuous, but if I had to guess a theme song for this week, or, hopefully not the season, it seems like Talking Heads "Once in a Lifetime" comes to mind...
The last four (?) coaches fired all lost to Arizona in their final year. I guess if we lose that’s a moral victory? Ugh…

At least Dorrell had that ten win season. Kelly can’t even get to 500.
Oh. Thank you for your observations. Spot on eye test. Appreciate it.

How about that coach in Cincinnati?

Good enough for me. Can we start now?

Gotta keep this in mind for future PGGs...
Just fire Chip Kelly. He's a con artist.
