Last week, we saw what the UCLA offense can do with a quarterback who doesn’t give the ball away for a pick six on the first drive of the game or three times in the first half when playing against one of the worst defenses in the country. It only gets better tonight as the Bruin offense faces the worst defense in the FBS.
The Bruins are a big 15-point favorite heading into tonight’s game. While I appreciate the fact that Colorado’s offense has put up big points against all but one of their opponents, the Buffaloes have not faced a defense as tough as UCLA’s. Look for the Bruins to cover and, like last week, I like the Bruins to win tonight by at least 21 points, if not quite a big more.
The Over/Under for tonight is 61 points. Despite the fact that the Colorado offense is one of the best in the country, the team is all hype. The Bruin defense is very good and I just don’t see the Buffs scoring more than 21. While I do expect at least 40 points from the Bruins, I don’t see Colorado putting up enough points to cover the over. So, I’m going with the under.
So far this season, My predictions are 5-1 against the spread, having been right for the games against Coastal Carolina, SDSU, Washington State, Oregon State and Stanford while I was wrong for the Utah game. I’m not nearly as good on the Over/Under. I’m just 3-3 on the Over/Under, with wins for the SDSU, Utah and Stanford games and losses for the Coastal Carolina, Washington State, and Oregon State games. I declined to offer any predictions for the NCCU game.
Let’s look at the game time weather forecast.
Game Time Weather Forecast
As Kirk Herbstreit has said, "[T]he San Gabriel Mountains, the sunset, the way it comes down, I just don’t see anything better than that.” and tonight’s game is going to be the end of another Chamber of Commerce day in Pasadena.
At game time, look for it to be sunny and a near[-perfect 71° at kickoff. With the sun setting at 6:03 pm tonight, the temperature should drop a few degrees to about 67° at halftime. It will remain clear after sundown as the temperature continues to drop to about 64° by the end of the third quarter and finally to about 61° by end of the second half.
Listen to the Game With TMB!
Tonight’s game is on ABC with Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit. These guys are the A Team, ESPN/ABC’s best broadcast crew, and Herbie seems to be a fan of the Bruins. So, personally, I’d recommend leaving the TV sound on tonight, but if you really prefer Josh Lewin and Matt Stevens, you can listen to tonight’s game online while chatting in the TMB game thread. Just right click on the link and open it in another tab so you can have it playing while you chat in the comments below. That way, you can listen to Josh Lewin, Matt Stevens and Wayne Cook call today’s game instead of Fowler and Herbstreit on ABC.
Here’s how to watch tonight’s game.

Hey everyone. Watching game at my son’s tonight. He had home theater with 80” TV. Probably will not make as many comments as usual but the food is great.
Good evening, Mighty Bruins!
Here we go Bruins, here we go!
U clap clap!
C - clap clap!!
A clap clap!
Need the “L” —lol
Oopsies, 8-clap interruptus.
L! clap! clap! clap!
CAL beating Suc 36-29 in 3td quarter. Awesome.
Thing of beauty! 💙💛
43-36, Cal still up. Let’s hope they hold on
Lotta game to go.. should be interesting finish
Tied up at 43 - 6 min to go
Fumble by Cal, fumble by SUC - nobody wants to win
50 - 43, trogans, 3.5 to go
The throwback unis are impeccable! No helmet logo and black cleats to go with the Beban Era jerseys. Great job!
Just saw them on tv-- love the throwbacks!
Hey Bruin Fam! Great to see you Joe, Terry, Jim and BB! I will be here as much as I can as I have an out of town guest but... Go Bruins!!!!!!
Hey, Tamara, and Go Bruins!
Let's try to show you guest a great football game!
💯!!!
Good Morning everyone, let’s go Bruins!
Let's Go!!!
Howdy, Jeffro! Go Bruins!
Hey everyone. Watching game at my son’s tonight. He had home theater with 80” TV. Probably will not make as many comments as usual but the food is great.
Nice!
CAL up by 7 with 6 min. Left. Go Bears.
Let's go!!!
Let's go, defense!! Make a statement
Sack, Latu!!
C'mon, D!
Defense totally unprepared for the types of plays this offense was obviously going to run. Screens and quick passes that short circuit the pressure.
Great D!!
Defense!!!
FG, we got away cheap on that drive!
Should have been blocked.
Thought it was going to be blocked
Yep.
So much for efficiency
Garbers just threw into double coverage; totally got picked smdh
hopefully not a complete catch, so incomplete and not pick
Learned that from Moore.
Thought Garbers was supposed to be the safe one
There we go Bru ins!
Looks like he didn’t control it
I’d give him that catch. He had control before it touched the ground. Great play. He earned it.
SPTRs strike early
No pressure
C'mon D, hold them to a field goal!
They run the same third down play and our guys are all running backwards.
Too easy on 3rd
We're doing a good job getting into the backfield; eventually, Sanders going down!
Great D!!
We are fortunate to be down 6. Time for O to get in gear.
CAL went for 2 point attempt with 58 seconds left. Failed. Looks like Suc will win 50-49.
Unnecessarily gutsy. When the SC had a full field they struggled and they only came back because Cal gave SC short fields due to TOs
Nice run, son
Steele! And blocking.
That shoulda been caught
Oh man, that was close!
Wow... we got lucky on that overthrow!
Not a good start for the offense
Nice play by special teams!
Some of these plays are overly clever
Moore would’ve made that throw
Garbers is starting right
Yep
The play calling so far is incoherent. Run the damn ball!!!!. And take that pass to the right flat and shove it!!!!
Sanders got rocked on that last pass!
On a long field, our Defense shut down CO offense
Harden with the shifty run!
Harden is getting those hard-fought yards!!
Dammit, we can't beat ourselves with penalty flags! Let's go!!
This line is killing me
Need to convert.
Nice designed run by Garbers on that 4th down play
Looks like we are lethargic.
Wow, Garbers runs for the fist on 4&11!
Made a nice move at the end to get the first
Harden!
That is more like it.
shoulda thrown the ball to Hayden, who is more likely to score
I'll take the TD as is.
This was in reference to Garbers keeping the ball and running with it, instead of throwing it to Hayden, Jim. Happened a play before
