College Football Saturday: Trevor Lawrence is Back
After a two-week absence due to Covid-19, Trevor Lawrence returns to the field along with a slate of Pac-12 games.
In today’s college football lineup, we will see the return of Clemson quarterback and future top NFL draft pick Trevor Lawrence as the #4 Tigers take on the Florida State Seminoles at 9:00 am PST. FSU has been bit hard by the injury bug and has also had a few players opt out this season, so Lawrence should have a smooth transition back to the field. Clemson’s double overtime loss last week to Notre Dame stung, so not only is the college football world eager to see Lawrence back doing what he loves, but the Tigers are ready to have their starter back.
Another 9:00 am game to watch is #9 Indiana at #3 Ohio State. No one predicted this would be such a huge game for the Big Ten back before the season started, but this is set to be one of the better games played today. While Ohio State is predicted to finish by more than three touchdowns, Indiana has the potential to shock the world with an offense that blanked Michigan State last weekend and beat #23 Michigan by two scores the week before.
Of course, the UCLA Bruins will be visiting the Oregon Ducks at 12:30 pm PST. This matchup got a lot more interesting, and perhaps troubling for the Bruins, when it came out Thursday night that several players, including Bruin quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson, may be out due to Covid-19 concerns. Two individuals within the program and three in the athletic support staff tested positive, and additional people may be in quarantine. UCLA was able to meet the minimum roster requirements, so the game will still be played. We at The Mighty Bruin certainly wish the team well as the deal with this news during such a tumultuous time.
Here is the full morning line up:
