"The Bruin law firm of Knight, Woods and Thomas combined for 117 yards on 25 carries. Jalen St. Paul led the UCLA receivers with 53 yards on three catches"
The defense is championship caliber. I am still a little concerned about the offense but a 27-0 shutout is good against anybody. Defense is giving up 7 points a game for the last 5 games. The last 4 games are all winnable but we could lose any one of them.
While out QB situation is not as dire as Ohio State's, I was hoping to see the offense make some improvements. For the rest of season, we can't afford not to take advantage of our scoring opporturnities.
Temp OT: The Toe Jams appear to be on the verge of an upset over OSU. Not that I have developed any special affection for these spoiled louts, but with the Bruins ascendancy to the heights and the TJs having their way with the Blackeyes and Michigan barely edging out a win at Rutgers, any dent in the Big 18's rep and arrogance is a vindication for the old PAC 10 -- the days of yore for me.
These arrogant sod busters -- particularly MU and OSU -- and their "three yards and a cloud of bull manure" will learn that we hippies and fruits and nuts can play football on their level. (We used to do it quite a lot back in my day when we Stanford and some other schools from up Oregon and Washington way would would disassemble the old Big 10 teams. They thought itn woud be a vacation and their kids would show up fat and lazy from touring Disneyland and gorging themselves on Lawry's prime rib at the beef Bowl! Their tea captains were so out of shape, they'd wheeze after the jaunt out to midfield for the coin toss!)
Of course, I got my fingers crossed re Minnehaha Golden Gophers next week but I kind of think that Da Chez's *under construction* teams are good because either the "D" or the "O" shows up and they save the bacon for the other half. Not that it is bad -- AT ALL -- because they manage to handle the opponents. We don't get the asymmetric routs that Bob Devaney's or Tom Osborne's Nebraska teams used to get (yet) but they will come!
Exit thought: I wonder how may HS kid's up in Michigan or in Ohio are thinking about how cool it would be to play for a bunch of nationally ranked ass-kickers out in Westwood instead on having to wait for the groundskeepers to recondition the home field with a Zamboni before they can start the second half?
Next appears to be scheduled for 9AM PT on FOX
