I don’t like the idea of playing without Tyler Bilodeau. We lost to Cal without him.
Yesterday after Duke was down double digits to Siena, multiple Duke players said on camera they thought the game would just be given to them and that it would be a cakewalk. It doesn’t speak very well of Jon Scheyer but that aside, I hope ucla isn’t coming into this game with that type of mindset either

We want to win 6 games (or as close to it as is reasonable). Getting Tyler more prepared for game 2, 3, 4, and beyond makes sense. If we lose game 1, we probably weren't going deep either way.
Anyone watch the Utah St - Villanova game? The announcers were joking about a foul and called it a lock and hold using his leg. On the play that Bilodeau got hurt, the Michigan State player did something similar so Tyler couldn't land correctly.

Not sure I like the strategy but you don't want to risk long-term health issues with anyone.
Idk his 18 points per game are a tough ask to replace for whoever is coming in for him… I don’t like the strategy either.
They basically beat Michigan State and went shot-for-shot with Purdue without him. It's not the worst idea in the world, but not an ideal one either.
It's definitely a gamble for the long term.
